UAE Reaffirms ADNOC Stability After OPEC Withdrawal Decision
UAE Industry Minister Sultan Al Jaber, who also leads ADNOC as its managing director and chief executive, said in a post on the social media platform X that the move represents “a sovereign decision in line with its long-term energy strategy.”
He emphasized that ADNOC’s operational priorities remain steady, writing that “As for ADNOC, our focus remains unchanged,” and adding that the company will continue supplying energy to global partners “with reliability, responsibility, and the ambition to deliver more.”
Al Jaber further noted that ADNOC will continue working across multiple sectors, including oil, natural gas, petrochemicals, as well as low-carbon and renewable energy initiatives.
The announcement follows the UAE’s formal decision to exit both OPEC and OPEC+, a step widely seen as a major shift within global oil-producing alliances.
The development comes at a time of heightened instability in global energy markets, with the conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran driving sharp increases in oil prices and raising concerns about supply security, particularly from Gulf producers.
Attention has also centered on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passage for global energy exports, which has faced heightened risk and disruption as tensions in the region continue to affect shipping routes and energy flows.
